Birthday

My birthday is today. I'm 27, which to me is the beginning of my late twenties. That doesn't mean that I look that old though. I still get comments of "You're too young to be a minister!" quite often. I'm not sure if there's anything significant about 27 other than it's the beginning of your late twenties. The next mile marker, in my opinion, is 30. I've still got three good years left of being in my twenties.

Anyway, we don't have much planned for today. One of my church members is taking me to lunch, and Caroline and I will probably go out for dinner, and then I will do laundry for hours in preparation for going out of town for Caroline's ordination (see the last 2 posts). Thursdays also means that Burn Notice is on, and while I find it a bit cheesy, it's somehow addicting.

We have intentionally kept my birthday low-key this year. And for a good reason: we bought a house. Yes, a lovely two story brick house with a huge fenced-in backyard. I'd show y'all pictures of the inside, but the homeowners are still there so its their stuff in the house and not ours. Those pictures will come soon (if I keep up with my blogging). We close March 31, which is a terrible idea. Why would two ministers close on a house in the middle of Holy Week?

As a teaser, here's a picture of the front of the house:

I like it! It looks very homey, even from the outside. Congratulations! Someday I'll have to come see it in person.

Yay house! I always had trouble remembering when your birthday was. So 6 months later, happy almost half birthday! I look forward to seeing it in person some day. Love you both,
Tar

The 2nd part to my thought:
Ben started officially crawling across rooms on March 4, so I will always remember your birthday as the same day Ben crawled. I love that it is a sentence- that is how I remember Ben's first crawling.
